The SS Done Blowed Up
I dunno, I guess I've got bad karma against me or something. I had visited some friends in Slidell over the weekend, and I had to come up to Baton Rouge Monday morning to turn in a project. No sooner had I gotten out of Slidell than the engine in the SS got hot and smoky.
Turns out the motor is dead. Well, it was a 17-year-old motor. Still, it sucks. It costs money to replace a motor, so we've decided to reduce the price and sell the car ASAP. We've gotten a lot of offers. After 4.5 years of my driving, I will drive the SS no longer.
We'll be selling the car at a loss, so I need to find a job this summer and make money. Maybe I'll do a little freelance web development. Whatever I can find, I dunno. I just need money.
Oh well, at least the semester is a couple of weeks away from being over, so that's a plus.

How To Have A Job Stolen From Under Your Nose
So, what's the explanation of the title?
Well, here's the story. Read some previous blog posts; you'll see how I mention how I was gonna be making a great new website.
Well, that website was going to be for a radio station on the Mississippi Gulf Coast (107.1 the Monkey). It was pretty much guaranteed that I was gonna get the job. A mock-up of the site was made and we had some things added to their server in order to get everything we needed working.
Enter the manager: Jay Taylor. I have friends inside the building, and they tell me he's quite the dick. People outside the building also say he's quite the dick. He has final approval, and he stalls and stalls for a long time (about 8 months).
Then, he decides to go with a crappy web developer for double the price. It was because this company (Web4You) said what he wanted to hear. The thing is, I had said those same things for 6 months before they came in! He's probably going deaf, I bet. Either that, or he has no common sense.
So, he signs a contract with them while still leading me on. Late last week, he finally tells me his final decision. I definitely think that Jay Taylor is a dick for what he did to me. He's still not on the level of KLSU, though.
He's gonna get fucked in the ass for Web4You. They got no skills. Hell, they called me today and offered me a crap amount of money for my mock-up! No way was I gonna sell it to them! It ain't money, it's the principle. I don't want them crapping up my work and getting paid a lot for it.
I did leave that fucktard Jay a little going-away present though. I had the password for CPR's site (remember, I was pretty much guaranteed a job), so I set up a redirect to a competing classic rock station. I also had the Monkey mock-up indexed by Yahoo! and now it redirects to a competing pop music station. FU Jay Taylor! HAHAHA
While I look for other web development opportunities, I'm likely gonna redesign thebigtymer.com around the end of May. Nothing else for now. Just wanted to fill y'all in.

Grad Nite 2001 Remembered
First, I wanna take the time to say happy Easter to all the Christians out there.
Now we get down to business. It's been a pretty boring Spring Break. I didn't get the internship; it's kinda late to get one now, so I'll just take ISDS 4113 next semester. Maybe I'll get an internship in the spring.
Anyways, it's been out 3 years since our senior class trip. I've posted the pics and a BiTchin! about NHS Grad Nite 2001. If anyone went to Northshore High School and has memories or pictures, please send to me. It was one hell of a time, wasn't it? Many of us may go to different colleges now, but we'll always have those memories of Grad Nite at Disney World.
Anyways, check those out, and Happy Easter. I gotta work on my ISDS 3115 final project. Even though I did really awesome on the SQL Test, I want to set things up so I don't have to study real hard for finals.
