Cable Or Dish?
School has started up again. I can't tell if this semester is gonna be easy or hard, though. It does seem that the projects will pile on at the end of the semester, though. I do have one teacher who sounds like Mr. Mackey from South Park. I keep expecting him to go "mmkay?" sometime.
Anyway, it seems that traffic is a bitch. It takes half an hour to drive about 2 miles to class. And it seems that every commuter lot is full. It's those damn freshmen again. They overcrowded NHS, and now they're overcrowding LSU.
Anyways, I got the Cox HD cable box. The quality's not bad, but it could be better. Plus, they don't have TNT-HD, HDNet, or Boomerang! Therefore, I've contemplated switching to satellite. Dish has a good deal going on where I wouldn't need to make a year commitment and not have to buy equipment. The price is also cheaper than what I pay to Cox now. I talked to them today and heard what I wanted to hear. I gotta talk to the landlord and see where I can put the Dish, if I can. I think I'd be able to.
Yes, I've heard the "rain fade" crap and all that. I think it's a bunch of crap. My aunt and uncle have Dish and don't have any problems.
One final note: DON'T YOU DARE HOTLINK MY IMAGES! Or you will get Goatse Boy. And just to let you know, the guy quickly learned his lesson.

Got My New HDTV, Beeyotch
Well, I finally went and did it. I got a new high-definition television. I went with the Samsung TX-P3071WH, and I think I made a wise choice.
I haven't gotten around to getting an HD box from Cox yet, but regular TV looks even better than I thought it would, and DVD's look great.
This is gonna be all good for the fall. I know Fox's Baton Rouge station will begin transmitting HD this fall, and a few Saints games will be broadcast in high-def. I know ESPN HD will have at least one LSU game in high-def, and there may be more on other networks.
NBC HD just came on for the Olympics. Nothing like watching those gymnastics chicks bend and stretch and flip at least 5-6x clearer than regular TV, huh? Yeah, I know I'm a pervert.
Now here's how much an employee discount at Best Buy save me.
TV: Regularly $999.99, I got it for $762.50 (savings of 24.75%)
TV stand: Regularly $79.99, I got it for $38.83 (savings of 51.5%)
DVD player: Regularly $56.99, I got it for $45.77 (savings of 20%)
So I think I did well for myself for the amount of money I spent. I think I may even get a job at Best Buy.
Anyway, back to watching TV (with a real good picture).

Holdin' It Down In The ATL
Well, I was holdin' it down for the past week. Now, I'm back. Anyways, I had a good time.
I went to the World of Coke and tried all these kinds of Coke products from around the country and world. I feel for the Europeans who have to drink some of that nasty shit. However, the good ol' USA has crap like TAB and Fresca, so it all balances out.
I also went to CNN Center. I wanna work for Turner when I get out of LSU. That place would be fun to work at. If I had any preference, I would wanna work at Cartoon Network.
Oh yeah, there was the requisite shopping. I actually bought clothes for the first time in a couple of years. I also looked at HDTV's I wanna buy. The Samsung TX-P2670WH looked real good in the store. The price is $700 retail, but I could get it for $530. I'll get it this upcoming weekend.
The only thing I regret not doing is going to a Braves game. Oh well, I'll do it next time. Right now, I gotta get to work on redesigning the website!
