Fried Hard Drive...A Tasty Treat
This past Wednesday, my computer seemed to freeze up a lot and not boot into Windows properly. The hard drive fried up, so I took it into the Computer Clinic to get a new hard drive. Got it back yesterday. A painless experience, except for the fact that the woman at the front desk could use a good toothbrush.
Anyway, except for some pictures and porno, I have everything I need. It just takes time to get back to normal.
Anyway, I was dreading my Finance test, and I ended up with a 95 on it. Now I have tests in my other 3 classes this week. And they were already planned for then before Ivan, so it's not like there was a reason I have 3 tests crammed into the same week, along with all the busywork.
Last week, I went to vote, and only one person I voted for won. That's the way it always is with me. If you want Dubya to lose the election, just pay me money and I'll vote for him. And if I vote for him, he'll lose. And if you want Kerry to lose, pay me and I'll vote for Kerry. And if I get the same amount from both sides, I'll vote Nader, OK?
I voted against the "outlawing of gay marriage amendment", and it won. I don't believe in discrimination for anyone...except idiots.
Anyway, I have to go to bed soon, as I work on Sunday mornings. Think I'll stop at Jack In The Box for breakfast on the way. Biscuits and tacos...what a combination! Who woulda thunk?

Riding Out Ivan The Terrible
LSU gave us today and tomorrow off. Why? Well, there's a little storm called Ivan that threatened the area. The good news: I don't have to wake up early for classes; the bad news: they still have homework for us to do. Oh well, you can't always get what you want.
LSU made the announcement at 5 PM on Tuesday. Therefore, people were watching their cell phones during Finance. They were waiting for text messages from friends telling them school was cancelled.
As of now, it looks like Baton Rouge won't get hit. Slidell is on the very edge; therefore, the parents evacuated to my apartment. It took them 3 hours to get from Slidell to Baton Rouge. I was able to go donate plasma and meet them in time.
Speaking of hurricanes, I wrote a new "BiTchin'!" article telling of all my storm stories. You probably don't want to read it, but check it out anyway.
Right now, I'm sitting in my apartment working on a VB Project. I'm really bored. It's hard to look at porn when you're not alone in your apartment and your computer is in a public area. At least they should be out by Thursday afternoon, I hope.
Anyway, something I forgot to mention last time; I'm getting jaw surgery after I graduate. Therefore, I have to get braces next month. Oh boy.
Anyway, back to my VB. If you're in Ivan's path (Gulfport/Biloxi/Mobile) and your power hasn't gone out yet, get ready for some powerful shit.

Donating Plasma Will Make Me Rich
I finally did it. Today, I went to donate plasma. I was gonna go Tuesday, but I didn't have anything with my social security number on it. Anyways, I made $25 for having a needle stuck in my arm for a little less than an hour.
Since it was my first visit, I had to go through a questionnaire and a physical. Basically, all the questions ask if you're either gay, a heroin junkie, or a person with AIDS. I swear that is what they ask! Anyway, I passed my physical, so I'm a suitable donor.
Today wasn't a good day to be a first-timer though. Usually, it should take 2-2.5 hours to do all this, but it took me 4. Whatever; I had nothing else to do. Anyways, I got to see "The New Guy", "Austin Powers", and the first few minutes of "Daredevil" on the TV's they had set up.
If I go back on Tuesday, I get $30 to donate, and it shouldn't take long at all like today did.
Anyways, back to real work: my Sunday shift is now 10:30 - 5:30 instead of 4:00 - 11:00. That's fine; I still get paid well!
Grades? They're great. Internship? I don't know anymore than last week. And I hope that the Finance book I bought gets here soon.
Anyways, I have a vB test to study for, so I'll write again soon.

I Need An Internship
On the "cable vs. dish" deal from last week...it looks like it ain't gonna happen. I went and asked my landlord if a dish would be OK, and they said yes...but I'd have to get even more renter's insurance, as well as pay a deposit. Looks like I'll be with cable until I move out. Oh well.
Anyway, I've already started looking for internships for the Spring. Since I like TV and radio, that's where I've been inquiring. Here's how it's gone so far:
WBRZ 2 - don't have an IS internship for the Spring
NBC 33 - sent in resume
FOX 44 - see above
Clear Channel Baton Rouge (WFMF, WYNK, WJBO, etc.) - made an inquiry
I got my work schedule for the semester. I get to sit in a computer lab on Sundays from 4:00 - 11:00. Not like I had anything else planned for Sunday nights. The pay is good, though.
Looks like I'll have plenty of off time between classes. Therefore, I'll probably make some money by donating plasma twice a week. Where else can you get paid nicely for having a needle stuck in your arm for an hour? Plus, you get to sit in a recliner and watch TV. Plus, you're helping people who need help. So everyone wins.
Anyway, I have to do some finance homework. It's more busywork, I think. Later.
