Did I Mention I Hate Katrina And The Waves?
I'm sure as hell not walkin' on sunshine right now!
I've been watching the weather this morning, and it makes me want to crap my pants. According to all the weather-type peoples, Hurricane Katrina is gonna fark New Orleans like it hasn't been farked with in years. That means it's time to run like hell, I guess. It's all up to what mom and pop do, and I just tag along.
Of course, I'm hoping for that good, good luck New Orleans has had for avoiding hurricanes the past few years. According to what I've heard, if this all stays true, NOLA will be a disease-infested fishbowl.
At least I received my first Google check (you get one when you total over $100). I also received my first Citi Dividend rebate check for almost $60. With the way gas prices are gonna rise, those checks will just fill up the tank in my Saturn.
On the job front, I've been getting more and more calls lately. I also checked the status of some jobs I applied for at IBM, and I passed the final pre-interview screening. Even better, these jobs are all nowhere near New Orleans. At least I wouldn't have to worry about hurricanes. However, one of those opportunities is at LSU. Yes, I said LSU.
If I end up having to evacuate, I'll be leaving soon. I-10, I-12, I-55, etc. will all be parking lots. I'll probably take pictures for the moblog.
If you live in the area, it's best to leave. If you choose to ride Katrina out, then I will nominate you for a Darwin Award. Of course, there are some people who I think should stay, but I won't name them.
Anyhow, I'm not sure when the next blog entry will be. So, bye for now.

3 Months... Still No Work
It's been 3 months since I graduated, and I still haven't been able to land a job. I must really suck. I never thought that I'd have gone this long without finding something.
I've usually made it to interviews, but I haven't made it past that. At the interviews, it seems the potential employers are impressed with me, but I never get an offer. I even had an interview this morning, and I know that they weren't impressed with me at all. I feel like shit right now.
Even more shitty is the fact that Grandma has cancer, and the doctors gave her 3-9 months to live. We went to see her in the hospital while we were on vacation last week.
Speaking of vacation, I took some pics for my moblog. At least it works.
When I got home from the trip, I had a couple of letters: one from American Express and one from Discover. The American Express envelope contained that supercool green card, but I was denied by Discover. They said they'll give me a card when I get a job. Oh well.
Anyone know of someplace that's hiring entry-level IT people? I need work, dammit! I hate sitting around with nothing to do.

Whoa! 2 Updates In A Week!
Well, I'm getting ready to leave for Atlanta tomorrow. I love going there. I'd like to live there someday. However, that's beside the point. I won't be back until next Thursday, and my Internet access will be somewhat limited. Some people probably say that's a good thing.
However, my moblog is built and ready to go. You can find the link on the right side of the page (EVERY PAGE EVEN!) Once I send pictures from the phone, they'll show up on the site around the top of the hour. Obviously, there's nothing as I write this, but trust me, it works.
One of my main goals during this trip is to network and look for work. If you read my last entry, you noticed that I was lamenting having a hard time finding work. However, soon after I wrote that, I got a call from the St. Bernard Parish School Board about a computer position they have available. I went down to Chalmette earlier today for the interview, and I think it went off very well. I'll know in about a week if I have a job down in Da Parish.
Well, with my luck, I decided to complete my credit holster. I have a Mastercard and a Visa. Therefore, why not go for an American Express and a Discover? I applied for the American Express Green Card and was instantly approved! Sweet! Even better, there's no fee for the first year, and I get bonus reward points. I don't know if I've been approved for a Discover yet, but I don't see why not. Anyway, they should be in the mail when I get home from Atlanta.
With this blog, I could update from anywhere. However, I don't feel like blogging during the trip. Don't worry, I will have my phone with me, and take lots of random hilarious pictures. See y'all in a week!

The BigTymer... He Needs Work!
I read recently that people who work spend a good amount of time slacking on the job. I envy those people. I'd like to find a job so I can slack on company time. Trying to find a job is so much work it's unreal!
(To any potential employers: I'm kidding about slacking on your time.)
I've been sending out resumes, following up on resumes, and using my networking skills to their fullest. Last night, I met a friend of my mom's who works at Lockheed Martin, and he's gonna try to get my resume to someone who notices. It seems a lot of companies want you to e-mail them resumes nowadays. I guess it saves paper when they throw it out!
While I have no job interviews in the Atlanta area at this point, I'm leaving on Saturday to go visit family for a week. That means I'm gonna take pictures with my camera phone. That also means I'm gonna spend the next couple of days building a moblog. That doesn't mean more topless photos, though; at least, not necessarily!
I know this is a short entry, but I want to get to work on my moblog. There will be funny photos from this trip, I'm sure.
