Holy Crap, I Can Eat Again!
Yes, I know that I slacked a little when it comes to writing here. However, I had good reason. I went to the oral surgeon for my 6-weeks post-op visit today. Good news! He gave me the "all clear" to eat again! With no dietary restrictions, my first solid food came from Popeye's. Fried chicken, cajun fries, cole slaw, and those tasty buttermilk biscuits. Damn, that was good! However, it seems I have to relearn how to chew. It felt weird chewing with my new bite; plus, my teeth have not chewed anything for 6 weeks, so it felt weird as hell. I'll probably try some softer foods until I get adjusted.
On the credit card I applied for in my last update: I was approved. I even got a $5,000 limit. It's like my other credit card, in that I get 5% back at supermarkets, drug stores, and gas stations, as well as 1% everywhere else. However, I get a $50 bonus for my first purchase. Therefore, I went to Sav-A-Center and used my Chase Cash Plus Platinum Rewards Visa to buy a couple of gift cards: one for Old Navy, and one for Foot Locker. That way, I essentially get 5% back at those places. Hell, I needed some new clothes and shoes anyway.
Since I got a new Visa, it made my old check card a little useless. Plus, I didn't like the $1/month fee. I don't know where my life is going in the short term, so I didn't want to change banks; I just wanted to change to an ATM card. However, I went to the bank, and I had enough money to convert to a new checking account with no monthly fee for the check card; plus, I get interest on my checking account. Sweet.
On the job front: I'm still sending out resumes. At least I get some rejection letters now; it's better than the sound of crickets. Still, to steal a line from Gwen Stefani, "This shit is bananas! B-A-N-A-N-A-S!"; that describes my job hunt in a nutshell.
Well, I'm going to go gorge on cold fried chicken. Bye.

T-Minus 2 Weeks To Solid Food?
I went to the oral surgeon on the 8th, and he said I'm healing really nice. I go back on the 22nd, and I could be eating solid food again if he gives the OK. I like oatmeal, scrambled eggs, and mashed potatoes. I just don't like eating them all the time. If I get the OK, I will either eat Popeye's chicken or a real nice steak that night.
That would be like a belated birthday present. Speaking of which, I turned 22 last Monday. The blenderized buffalo wings actually came out tasty, and the ice cream cake was awesome. Of course, I also got some presents.
I finally got a new phone. It's a Motorola V551, and it's got video capabilities. Hell, I might not only put a moblog on here, but some videos if I feel like it!
Oh yeah, I also got money.
The best present was an unexpected one. I finally got Cox to charge back money they owed me to my credit card. When I called the credit card company to check the status of that, I got a little birthday bonus. My credit limit is now DOUBLED. The Citi Dividend Platinum Select is an awesome credit card, especially with the 5% back on gas. I love Citibank!
I also have a potential job interview in Atlanta coming up, so I'm going to work on that. I also applied to Lockheed Martin, since I have so many family members that have worked there. Since I'm on a run of good luck, I figured I'd apply for another credit card.
Well, I gotta go back to getting a job. Like Mr. T, I need work!

Holy Crap, I Turn 22 Tomorrow!
I'll be honest; this is the first time my birthday has snuck up on me. I think it's because of my jaw surgery, though. I've been focusing on trying to get back to 100%, that I forgot all about it. However, I do turn 22 on July 4.
So, the question is: what do I get for my birthday? I'll probably end up with some cash money. However, I'll also probably be getting a new phone. If so, I get to pick it out on Tuesday. Maybe I should get a camera phone; if I do, there may be a moblog in the future of TheBigTymer.Com.
So, it's been about 3.5 weeks since my jaw surgery. I went to the oral surgeon on the 24th to get unwired. It hurt a good bit. Then I had to go to the orthodontist to get my braces fixed and get some rubber bands. I'm wearing them in order to retrain my jaw.
After that, I went to KFC and got a large order of mashed potatoes. Laugh if you must, but they were the best mashed potatoes ever. Hey, after "eating" liquids for 2 weeks, dog crap would probably taste good!
Right now, I'm on a "no-chew" diet. That means I can eat whatever I want, as long as I don't have to chew it. Right now, my diet consists of mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, soft pasta, oatmeal, etc., but I've tried other things. I tried pureed porkchops, and they tasted like dirt (even with a hearty helping of Tony Chachere's).
So, that leads to birthday dinner. I'm thinking of going with Buffalo Wild Wings (if they're open). I'll get some Buffalo Legs, pull the meat off the bones, and pulverize it in the food processor. That should actually taste good.
So, happy birthday to me tomorrow. Send money.
