AM I CLOSE TO GETTING A JOB?

I was waiting to write again until I heard from SCP Pool. I haven't heard from them, so I left a message and started writing this. I guess I didn't get past the first interview with them, but it's not the first time!

However, I did have a couple of interviews last week, and I seem like a good bet to make it to the second interviews with them. One was with a New Orleans law firm that's temporarily displaced to Baton Rouge, and the other was with Associated Grocers in Baton Rouge. I could be assistant to the IT manager with the former, a programmer with latter. I hope to hear something this week.

However, I have set a deadline for myself. If I can't land a job by mid-November, I will apply to grad school and go for my Masters degree. I don't want to go to grad school -- at least not right away. However, it seems like I don't have a damn choice, do I?

I can't get a full-time IT job because I'm supposedly underqualified, and I can't get a job making roast beef sammiches at Arby's because I'm supposedly overqualified. You figure it out.

Anyway, I have written a new BiTchin'! article on soft drinks, so you can go peep that now. Unfortunately, for the last week and a half, many of you thought I had already written it. Don't be like KLSU -- learn to read!

SO CLOSE TO GETTING A JOB

I was planning to update a little sooner, but I had some bad news last week. Remember how I mentioned that my grandma had 3-9 months to live back in August? It only ended up being 2. Cancer took her on the 4th of October. Her funeral was this past weekend. It was a beautiful funeral, but I was a little freaked that it was open-casket.

What pissed me off was that while we did the car procession to the cemetery, these 2 Mexican idiots cut into the line for a bit. Would it have been any trouble to show some respect and wait for the procession to pass? But NO, I guess they had to get somewhere, and that really pissed me off.

On the way back home, I stopped in LaGrange, Georgia to pick up a bunch of Cheerwine. I think I am addicted to this drink; it is just that fuckin' awesome. I think it's time for another BiTchin'! article, and this one will be about those hard-to-find soft drinks.

I had another job interview today; this one was with SCP Pool in Covington. They're a pretty significant company; no one dominates the distribution of swimming pool and spa equipment and supplies like they do. This was the best interview I ever had; I hope I actually get the job this time.

If I do get the job, I'm definitely starting my personal finance blog. By the way, I got the limit raised on my Citi Dividend card by $1,000. Sweet.

Hopefully, the next time I write, I have a job.
