See Ya 2006; Whassup 2007?
Just a few hours left to go for this year. Not that I can complain, as 2006 was a pretty good year. I look forward to 2007, because I'm sure it'll be even better.
Not only is January 1, 2007 the new year; it's also the 4th birthday of this site. I launched TheBigTymer.Com at 12:05 AM on January 1, 2003. It's been great to have been one of the least popular sites on the web for the past 4 years; well, except when I pissed someone off, which happens more often than you think.
Anyway, what are the plans for TheBigTymer.Com in 2007? I plan to do a big redesign of the site again. The site looked best from mid-2003 to early 2005. I'd like to get something close to that. Also, I plan to add a webcam (of what, I don't know yet). The webcam I got for Christmas is sweet, so I need to put it to good use. I might also talk about more relevant crap for once.
In 2007, I also plan to launch two more sites. One is a personal finance blog, and the other is like the old Crescent City Radio Connection. I know I keep talking about them, but I just need to get the time to do them. Spare time is just not in as much supply these days.
Anyway, have a great 2007. Don't drink and drive, but have a helluva damn good time getting shitfaced tonight. And dream of the LSU Tigers winning the Sugar Bowl, and the Saints getting to the Super Bowl.
And if they do make the Super Bowl, I'm gonna take sick days and go to Miami. I wish I had vacation time, but if the Saints did make the Super Bowl, it'd be like Halley's Comet; it only happens once in your lifetime.

Thank God Last Week Is Over
You know, it feels good to have a break. Last week, it seems that a break was something I didn't get.
At our company, we're actually expanding the sales force. I was in charge of making maps to plot out sales areas for the reps in both sales units. That meant sitting down with sales managers and making maps. That wasn't so bad itself.
However, the schedule was insanely compact for the amount of work we had to do. All the reps had to be completed in two days. That meant no lunch breaks, and staying overtime.
However, the rewards were worth it. I got a gift card to Times Bar & Grill for my trouble, and I'm expecting a little cash under the table from a manager. I also got my Christmas bonus, which was a good bit of cash, and a smoked turkey that's pretty damn tasty. I guess it's worth it.
I got all my Christmas shopping done. Since I also helped out others with their Christmas shopping, I know what else I'm gonna get for Christmas. A webcam is one of them, and a pretty nice one too. Now I just have to figure out what to cam, since I refuse to be a camwhore (although the money must be nice).
I'll be updating again around Christmas. Until then, here are some New Orleans-themed Christmas videos. If you don't understand them, then you're not from here. Just e-mail me and I'll explain them to you.

Ice Cold Is Cooler Than Cool
As I write this, the temperature is below freezing. It pisses me off. It pisses me off because it ain't snowing. I only like the cold when it's snowing. I guess this means I'd have a hard time living up north.
Anyway, I had a good Thanksgiving. It just felt great to get off of work. It'll feel even better when Christmas rolls around. They recently also gave us Kwanzaa off. I don't celebrate Kwanzaa myself, but it'd be great to have another day off. I also still have a couple of sick days to use by the end of the year. Maybe I could take that whole week off, except for Friday. Payday. Christmas bonus? We'll see.
Speaking of sick days, I get a whole new allotment at the start of 2007. I wonder if I could get "sick" on January 4. In case you're unaware, LSU's playing Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl on July 3. I feel a tiny bit conflicted. Of course, I went to LSU. However, NHS's fight song was a blatant ripoff of Notre Dame's.
Just kidding. GEAUX TIGERS!
Still working out at the gym. Get there every weekday after work. Mostly cardio right now, but I do hit the weights a couple of days of the week. Always the steam room afterwards, and I make sure it's not a sausage-fest in there. Also, a bit of lap swimming on Saturdays. By doing that, and watching what I eat, I hope to be a thin bastard by next Christmas.
I hope to update more often soon. Gotta think of a redesign for this site.
