I HAVEN'T GONE... YET???

As I said in my last blog, I was going to move up to Atlanta this weekend. However, it turns out that I wasn't able to get someone to move my HDTV. That means that if I do move, it won't be until the 19th of August.

I say, IF I do move. I still haven't heard from the company in Baton Rouge yet. It's surprising that they contacted me first for an interview, and now they won't return my calls. However, I do have an interview with a pharmaceutical company in Covington coming up on Thursday. They also saw my resume online and contacted me.

Before Thursday, I have the little thing of grad student orientation at Georgia State. That's on Tuesday. I get my student ID, and a free dinner. Of course, that'll all be for naught if I get a job around here. We'll see.

I don't know what happened with weather.com's XML feed, but that was the reason why the site wasn't working today. I fixed that by temporarily removing the weather feed for now. Not like many people used the weather page here, anyway. The only time it really got any play was during Katrina.

Well, I head out to Atlanta tomorrow, and I come back Wednesday. I gotta pick up some Cheerwine on the way there, so I'll do that.

DO I STAY OR DO I GO?

Checking it out right now, it's almost time for me to fly... to get the hell on out of the Dirty Dell. Ye-hah! 'Sup!

Actually, checking it out right now, I have about 8-9 days before I move to Hotlanta for good. That means I have some things to do, such as donate some crap to Goodwill and get utilities in order. This might be my last week in Louisiana. Not my fault Kathleen Bumblin'eaux Blank-o sucks with businesses and can't get any good IT jobs here! Don't blame me, I voted for Jindal way back when!

Today I went to the library to fax an application to Chick-fil-A. Religious crap aside, that would be a great place to work. Free chicken sandwiches for lunch everyday! And they're not fattening either! I just sent my resume there to see if they had anything entry-level, and they did.

Of course, if that company in Buckhead would just get back to me with a "yea" or a "nay", I'd be happier. I've tried getting in touch with them, but to no avail. Now that's just rude!

Just paid my Georgia State tuition as well. It helps that I got a new Discover card! Yes, it finally happened. Even better, right now, you get 5% CashBack on tuition (up to $2G). Sweet.

Now, all of the above can be negated if that company in the 225 makes a decision real soon. At least they could tell me they hadn't made a decision yet. That's a very good thing.

Well, everything will come to a head next week. All your questions (and mine) will be answered.

BIRTHDAY MONEY IS GOOD

Last Tuesday was my birthday. My birthday take was good. Usually, I get an amount of cash and other crap equal to my sister. This year, she wanted a video iPod, so I made out like a bandit.

With some of that birthday money, I bought me a TV/FM tuner card that fits into the PCI-Express x1 slot on my desktop. Got a good deal on it too. Of course, there's another one that has dual HDTV tuners, but it hasn't come out yet. Plus, I don't know how well it works.

Of course, it's hard to get a good dinner on my birthday. As you know, places are STILL having a hard time finding employees. Put a holiday on that, and hardly anything's open. We just found a wing joint and got wings on my birthday, and then went out for steak later in the week.

I'm still trying to find out how those previous two interviews went. Of course, I had one over in the 225 last Monday. What was good about this one was that the company saw my resume on Monster, and THEY CONTACTED ME. Not the other way around. I guess that could be a good thing. We'll see.

According to the countdown, I'll me moving to the ATL in 2 and a half weeks, unless something changes. I'm thinking of writing a new article on New Orleans memories, or something like that. If I do, it'll be up next week.

I POOTED.

It must be all the fiber in those smoothies I drink for breakfast. Mmm, mmm. Yoplait Nouriche, Strawberry-Banana flavor. 20% of your daily fiber needs. I remember that Wal-Mart used to have a generic brand yogurt smoothie. It had 33% of your daily fiber needs. That'll stank up the room!

Actually, I had one before I went to my job interviews in Atlanta last Monday. Fiber makes you fart! Luckily, I was only able to keep it to when I was driving. Speaking of which, I saw the title of this post on a couple of billboards on I-75. I also saw similar ones that said "I'ma hot toe picker." and "Look! I have a meat beard!" Supposedly, they have something to do with Cartoon Network (at least that's what it said when I googled them).

At least the job interviews went well. I also got to spend some time at the Georgia Aquarium, do some bowling, and tour the campus of Georgia State. I also got my tetanus shot. It didn't hurt a bit. Didn't even need a band-aid. Plus, on the way up, I got a crapload of Cheerwine at the Publix in Hoover (a suburb of Birmingham). I think they were expecting me.

Also, tomorrow is my birthday. I guess I'll be getting money. To be honest, I definitely haven't thought about my birthday this year. I've been thinking more about the next 3-4 weeks. If I haven't found a job around here or anywhere else besides Atlanta, I'll be moving out of the Dirty Dell around July 29th.

Happy birthday to me.
