So I Didn't Take That Job...

As I mentioned in my last entry, I had gotten a job offer from a company in Covington. Since it was only $24,000 a year and lack of benefits, I turned it down.

I know, I know, you probably think I'm an idiot. Well, I'm not. In fact, I'll show you some idiots later.

I had talked to my uncle, who's been in the IT field for 15 years. He said that experience is important (and I agree) but that the salary I was offered wasn't fair. He said a fair starting salary would be $30,000.

All is not lost, however. I have two job interviews in Atlanta on Monday. I'll be heading up either tomorrow or Sunday. On my way, I plan to stop at the Publix in Hoover and pick up 4 12-packs of Cheerwine. Not only do I have coupons... they're on sale. Freakin' sweet!

While I'm up in Atlanta, I plan to do some other crap as well. I want to check out the Georgia Aquarium. Maybe I'll even go up to Tennessee for the hell of it. Once I get back, I'll write.

Now, I mentioned that I would show you real idiots. Look at these auctions on eBay.

$54 (INCLUDING SHIPPING) FOR A $50 WAL-MART GIFT CARD!
$102.50 FOR A $100 TARGET GIFT CARD!

Now are those people stupid or what?

See you next week!

Hell Froze Over... I Got A Job Offer

In my last post, I mentioned that I had an interview with a company in Covington. Yesterday, while I was doing a phone interview with another company, I got a voice mail from them. I called, and they wanted me to come in to discuss a job offer.

This morning, I drove to Covington, and received the offer. I knew it didn't pay that well, but it was even worse than I thought. Let's just say I could make the same money working in fast food around here. And at Taco Bell, all you have to do is remember what they want in their chalupa.

I told them I wanted some time to think about it. It seems like I'll have to turn them down, though. I do wish I had a little more leverage, but I think a person with a degree is worth more than that.

All is not lost, however. I have an interview in Atlanta on the 26th (I was already planning to go up there then!), and I have some other irons in the fire. At least now I'm making some decent money selling some crap on eBay.

Next time, I'll tell you whether or not I'm taking the job in Covington. Right now, it looks like not. However, things can change.

I Need More Needles In My Arm! Crap!

I finally got around to sending my immunization records sent to Georgia State. You know, just in case I go to grad school. I called to day to confirm that they got them. Turns out that I need another tetanus shot. Even better, I have to get mommy to send a letter saying I had the chicken pox once! I guess this means I get to get a shot.

Maybe I can pay for it with my eBay profits. Unfortunately, I didn't make as much as I hoped on my last auction. However, I have some more Movie Cash certificates up for bid. Hopefully, I can make some money on them.

I never heard from Antares if they wanted me for another interview. Guess it won't happen. However, I did have another interview in Covington on Monday. It doesn't pay a lot, but it seems I would fit in very well there.

I'm probably going up to Georgia in a week or two. It would be to do some straightening up on the place I'd be staying; that is, assuming I go to Georgia State or I get a job in the ATL. We'll see what happens. And I'm running low on Cheerwine, so I might stop in Birmingham and buy some more.

Before I go, the #1 search term for this site is "MyCokeRewards codes". Again, I might put some on eBay soon.
