I Was Waiting To Post, But No Longer
I was waiting to write this entry until I heard back from Manheim, whom I went to interview with last week. They said to call them if I hadn't heard from them by yesterday, which I did, and I ended up leaving a message. Still haven't heard anything, which I assume means I didn't get the gig. Maybe they'll read this blog and let me know?
Speaking of which, the other company I hoped to have a second interview with had sent me a rejection e-mail early last week. Such is my crap-ass luck.
Grad school is looking better and better now. While I was in Atlanta last week, I went to the campus of Kennesaw State to turn in the last part of my application, as well as tour the campus. I was able to walk the ENTIRE campus in half an hour. Very efficient.
The only part of the app Kennesaw State doesn't have is my GRE scores, which are on their way. Unofficially, I scored 490 on Verbal and 720 on Quantitative. That means I thoroughly kicked my dad's ass on this test. And he's a smart dude.
I'm probably also going to finish my application to Georgia State. I have to write a couple of essays, but that's pretty much it.
Anyhow, I'm going to go back to tinkering with my desktop. Maybe I'll get lucky and Manheim will call.

First Post From The New Desktop
I've actually had my new Shuttle SD11G5 up and running for a week now. When I went to return the defective processor to Monarch while I was up in Atlanta recently, they didn't have another one in stock. Therefore, I ordered from another site and quickly got the new Pentium M. It came last Thursday, and I quickly installed the new processor. And it worked!
This computer is much better than the old Dell. Plus, it cost a little more than half as much as the Dell cost back in 2001. Moore's law is a great one, isn't it?
Mardi Gras was great, although I did get sunburned. Gotta love traffic, though. I saw a guy get pissed about someone cutting him off. He got out, walked up to the other person, and broke the glass out of their window. He probably got arrested.
On the job front, I should hear tomorrow from a couple of companies. One was the one I went up there to interview with, and the other was a company I phone-interviewed with yesterday. Maybe I'll get lucky and have TWO interviews in one trip next week.
And since this job search ain't exactly working out like I hoped, I applied to a couple of colleges in the Atlanta area. I take the GRE on Saturday. Even if I don't get a job there, I'm planning to move to Atlanta in August.
Well, I'm going to play with my computer some more.
