TheBigTymer.Cam Now Live!

Well, I finally got around to taking care of the most major item I wanted to take care of on this website. TheBigTymer.Cam is now live. As you can see on the right, there's a thumb of the most recent still. If you go to the camera page, you can see a larger version. Also, if you click the "live video" link, you can watch a live stream of what's going on outside my apartment. Quicktime is required to view the stream.

Now, I just have to get the moblog back up, and I've gotten everything back running.

In my last entry, I mentioned the possibility of snow. Well, we got snow all right. 4" to be exact. It did melt a little bit quickly, though. It is March. However, it was fun to play in while it lasted.

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to volunteer at an Easter egg hunt at one of the old folks' homes in the area. I had a good time, and I also earned a couple of hours of time off. Everybody wins.

On the way home, I had dinner at the China Super Buffet in Bellevue. Unfortunately, it was mediocre. The General Tso's chicken was cold. It was fully cooked. However, it was cold. Also, the Mongolian grill was a joke. Next time I want a Chinese buffet, I'll probably try the one with the same name on Charlotte Pike. I don't believe they're owned by the same people.

At work, we have a little March Madness pool going. I'm out of the running. What was I thinking, thinking that Tennessee would take the whole thing and Davidson won't make it past Gonzaga? Oh well, it was only $10 I lost. Hopefully, I'll do better next year.

Well, go and watch TheBigTymer.Cam.

I Left Louisiana, But They Won't Leave Me Alone

I thought that when I moved out of Louisiana a few months ago, I was done dealing with them. I was wrong.

Back around Christmas, they sent me a letter to prove to them why my Louisiana auto insurance lapsed (I just moved my policy to Tennessee... duh). They said if I didn't comply, they'd make it hard on me to get my driver's license renewed in any other state. I asked them, "Well, then won't you be able to see that I have insurance in another state?" Naturally, the idiots at the Louisiana DMV said they couldn't.

Well, they just won't leave me alone. Obviously, I had to file income taxes there for the past year, and it said I would get a refund. When the direct deposit didn't show up, I inquired why. Turns out I was selected for a "random" review. I think Louisiana has something against me.

On to more interesting pursuits. I had a chance to go bowling this past weekend. I had some free game coupons from some TV dinners, so I went to the AMF lanes in Berry Hill to roll some games. I was way out of practice, so my first couple of games really sucked (46 & 37). My final game was a 101, which is par for the course for me. My best game was a 144; I hope to beat that one day.

Obviously, you've seen the still images from the cam. Depending on the weather, I hope to have actual video up this weekend. So why would the weather be a concern? They're predicting significant snow for Friday and Saturday. If it happens, I'll be out playing.

One of the awesome revelations I recently had was that I'm making good enough money that I could buy a house or condo when my apartment lease expires. It couldn't have happened at a better time. Thank you, housing bubble burst! Seriously though, I'm getting my finances and credit in order, and hope to seriously start looking this summer.

I hope it snows this weekend. Maybe I'll take pictures. And maybe you'll be able to catch it on the cam.
