I'm A Really Picky House-Hunter

As I mentioned last time, I got hooked up with a realtor and have been looking at houses. It's led me to discover one thing: I'm so damn picky about the house I want. I may have found a couple I really want, but I didn't jump on them right away, because I had to analyze everything first.

Last weekend, we didn't look at any houses. That's because I didn't see any listings that piqued my interest over ones I had already seen. I may go see some this weekend, but that all depends on if there's any I want to see.

Let me fill you in on some places I've seen previously and didn't like:

- There was a house in Bellevue that looked good in photos, but wasn't that great when you actually toured it. The dead wasp in one of the bedrooms sealed its fate.

- There was a house in Nipper's Corner that was in surprisingly good shape for a foreclosure. What was weird is that the door to the master bathroom was missing. Even weirder was the fact that there was a giant picture window in front of that bathroom. In essence, someone could watch you take a crap from the street.

- There were a couple of townhouses in the Brentwood/Nipper's Corner area that were built in the early 80's. They looked like they hadn't even been messed with since then.

That being said, I did see a couple of townhouses I did like after thinking about them. I may make an offer on one of them. One is a little out of my price range (so I'll have to haggle to what I think is fair), and one has an offer on it, contingent on financing. I may put in offers around Mardi Gras.

Speaking of Mardi Gras, it's almost time to go down south and party hard again. That comes up in a week.

This weekend, I hope to do some more house hunting. I saw a couple of places in the Sylvan Park/Heights area that interest me, and there may be some more townhouses. We'll see what happens.
